Who we are:
Sisterhood Creations Inc. is an international organization dedicated to helping children affected by poverty in the United States, the Caribbean, South America and Africa. Sisterhood Creations Inc, is a private, nonprofit, tax exempt organization founded in 1998, charted by the state of Texas in 2003, and classified by the IRS as a 501 (c)(3) organization. Since its inception Sisterhood has been involved in creating a change in a child's life. The organization has programming and services for children in the Caribbean, South Africa, and the United States.
Why is the mission Important?:
Children are the world's future, and it is apparent now, more than ever, of their importance. As a global population, we continue to grow more interdependent. What happens in Africa, the Caribbean and South America affects us in America, just as what happens here affects the rest of the world. Many children in the United States, the Caribbean, South America and Africa are suffering from: a lack of resources to teach them how to become productive, positive world citizens.
Our mission:
The mission of the organization is to value and develop the human spirit in each child affected by poverty so that, no matter what their cultural or social background, each child will have the chance to achieve their full potential in life.
Our Vision:
The vision of the organization is to establish enough outstanding community giving and overall caring for children affected by poverty that each person will understand that they can change the world. Each person can create a change in a child’s life. No matter what their financial situation is, they can help end poverty everywhere. The organization seeks to create a system of individuals recycling resources to help those in need, so that we may build a better tomorrow for ourselves and generations to come.
The organizational values include: urgency, persistence, passion and excellence.
Local Programming
The Cultural Exchange Program (CEP) is a program that brings a cultural experience into the academic environment and inspires children to learn more about different cultures. The program provides a safe and sensitive environment using drumming, percussions, dance, storytelling (drama) and visual arts. Participants gain self-confidence, improve their motor skills and develop their social skills. The Cultural Exchange Program provides participants an opportunity to participate in a community based performance troop program.
